Just a little history ..La Cardosa Ranch
La Cardosa Ranch has been in the family before the 1900's. This is a small portion of the original ranch purchased by the late John Cleary. He was a Duval County Clerk and involved in the first oil found in Pietra Pintas area of Duval County. He was assassinated in San Diego, TX at White's Cafe in 1907. In the late 1930's and early 1940's it is know for the prolific oil production from the Fitzsimmons fields. More than four million barrels were produced at the time. This portion of the ranch has been developed during the last five years by adding a high fence, clearing of brush, and planting feed pots. The ranch now supports different kinds of deer. |
